Winter, the Bottlenosed Dolphin

Description

Winter is a dolphin that was rescued after being caught in a crab trap and taken to Clearwater, Florida to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.  The dolphin had lost its tail and could not swim appropriately.  This dolphin received a lot of notoriety when the experts in human prosthetics created a tail for Winter.  Winter is still there today!  I have family near there and of course when I visit, I want to go check on Winter. The cool thing is you can see winter from anywhere on the web.  You can see Winter and the other rescue marine animals at their live web cams www.seewinter.com.   I created this art to think of Winter swimming in the ocean with the sea coral.  Unfortunately, Winter will remain at the aquarium with his prosthetic tail.
